Could you live with not talking to your JW family for the rest of your life?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inone of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.
as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .
i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.

I couldnt imagine not having a relationship with my family. I wish I could say they're disfunctional, or treacherous, but they're not. My grandmother told me how proud I make her and how blessed it is to be in a family all worshipping Jehovah. I've got a brother and his wife, my sister and her husband, two Medicare aged parents, a grandmother whos beyond Medicare aged, aunts, uncles, not to mention JWs who arent related to me physically but are still like family. Its a heavy thing to go against the grain. Tip my hat to those who do regardless of the family ties being strained.

Great question. It hurts my head when I think too long about it. Its like I'm pushing my thoughts where I ought not.

I havent watched the remake yet, but I saw the original as a kid too. Scared the daylights out of me. Lately I've been thinking about the ending and how ambiguous it was. John Carpenter did the same with The Fog. Still I wonder what happened to the creature? Was it Childs, cuz he didnt have a problem drinking from the bottle Kurt Russell handed to him. I would have said hell no I'm not drinking from that. Great film though.

How often did you entertain the "Traveling Overseers", and did you regret it afterwards?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini found taking the traveling overseers out for a meal, to be a waste of time.
our literature regulary spoke of the upbuilding talk the local congregations received by entertaining our brothers.
now some of the modern cos look at their telecommunication devices, talk of things not related to our ministry or phone it in.

I took one CO to a pretty good NYC deli once, and on his next visit he stabbed me in the back. Really through me for a loop I have to say.

Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.a.a.d. City. Its not out yet, but leaked on Wednesday. Official release is Tuesday. I've heard the leaked product, and it gives me that same feeling of life like when I heard 36 Chambers or the Chronic for the first time.
Nas' Life Is Good. My favorite rapper of all time so I'm biased, but it made 2012 worth it. Its been a good year for Hip Hop.
CL, I always say I'm gonna give Muse's discography a listen and never get around to it. They're that good huh?

Theres got to be legal ramifications if the WT were to make such a request openly though right?
On another note, I wonder what would happen if the org went belly up financially? They've layed off volunteers before, but not so in a sudden massive manner. Imagine how it would affect die hard believers if God allowed his organization to suffer a financial death blow. I couldnt imagine a WT without any teeth, sounds impossible to me.
